In 2004, more by chance than necessity, I found myself surrounded by a series of contemporary artists and art events.

I was invited to the Accademia di San Luca for a workshop for architects, artists, and filmmakers. There, with architect Francesco Cellini and artist Carola Spadoni, I created the video MOVIE GAME (alas, I can no longer find it), which, mixing cult movies and video game graphics, depicts the stretch of the ring road that cuts through the buildings of Rome's San Lorenzo neighborhood. The video was on display for a month at the Accademia di San Luca and received significant praise, including from the dean of the Valle Giulia School of Architecture, who asked us to teach a course for the students.

A few months later, I was called to Riato Santambrogio to shoot a video for a group exhibition, and there I met the Iraqi artist (in Rome since 1974) Alì Assaf. From that experience, the first work I created with Alì, LAMPEDUSA CHECKPOINT , was born, and has toured extensively in solo and group exhibitions. A great friendship was born, and other works followed over the years: I'M HER, I'M HIM, which was presented at the Cairo Biennale, and then NARCISO, which in 2011 was shown at the Venice Art Biennale for seven months.
