IN SHORT, ABOUT ME
Among my films are NESSUN NOME NEI TITOLI DI CLODA (2020), a feature-length documentary launched at the Rome Film Fest, which also won awards abroad and was a finalist at the Nastri D'Argento, which immerses itself among the invisible and follows Antonio Spoletini, the youngest of five brothers who have made films with all the greats, from Fellini to Orson Welles; ALISYA IN WONDERLAND (2010), winner of the Ilaria Alpi Award and numerous other awards, presented at over 50 festivals and broadcast several times by Rai, which helped to poetically bring out the world of second generations, describing a banlieue on the outskirts of Rome.
Among my theatrical works PORTA FURBA , awarded with publication in 2001, and the two texts brought to the stage with success in partnership with Valerio Malorni: NESSUNO PUO' TENERE BABY IN UN ANGOLO (2007) and THE MAN IN THE FLOOD (2014), Finalist of the Scenario Award, Winner of the In-Box Award, considered among the most significant works of the new theatre and on tour continuously since its debut.
In 2011 I participated with the artist Ali Assaf at the Venice Art Biennale with the video-art work NARCISO , in 2014 I received the Special Mention of the Jury at the Solinas Prize for the screenplay of the comedy series I MAYA and in 2016 My short documentary ZAZA, KURD , the story of a Kurdish friend’s return home after 17 years, was presented in the MigrArti Section at the Venice International Film Festival.
In 2026, at the 83rd Venice Film Festival, in the Giornate degli Autori section, I presented my latest feature film WAITING FOR KEN LOACH.
In 2019, TEATRO NEL DILUVIO was released , a collection of my award-winning plays written between 1998 and 2018. Published in the Percorsi series by Editoria&Spettacolo.
Since 2022 I have been working on the cross-media project LETTER TO TELEMACHUS (between literature, theatre and cinema) around the writing of my father, Luigi Amendola, a poet who passed away prematurely in 1997.
